Malaysia Haul

Hi all,

I know that I have been saying this a lot lately, but sorry for the delays! I wasn't able to find my camera for about a week and was almost sure that it was lost forever - which is pretty stressful for a blogger (especially since I just did a lot of swatching)! But, alas, it tumbled out into the open whilst I was cleaning the house the other day. I still maintain that someone else must have hid it...

Mum headed to Malaysia to visit family without me, as I could not get away from work. But she is forgiven because she brought me back all these beauty goodies! Gotta love mum!!

Most of the products are from Elianto. Elianto is a brand that I tried the last time I was in Malaysia and I really liked their products! Great quality and an equally great price - especially with the currency exchange.

These shine up lipsticks have a wonderful finish. A bit like lip butters, but a lot smoother.

I have been using the eyeliner nearly every day for about a week and am really enjoying it - will write a review soon.

I am a big sheet mask fan, so these were definitely exciting! I have used a few of already and have liked them so far.

More face masks! I like the sound of the natural pearl mask...

These shadows are so very pigmented. Note to self: buy another empty palette to put them in.

Definitely one of the creamier formulations that I have tried.

A baked blusher and a regular blusher. Again, very creamy and blendable.

Some gorgeous baked shadows - I love the packaging on the baked products as well.

Polishes! I am particularly excited about the green one in the middle.

Nail polish stickers/foil - three cheers for leopard print!

And finally! Some MAC goodies.

MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Med-Deep (I keep this stocked up)! And Creme In Your Coffee & Viva Glam V.

Hope you all enjoyed seeing this haul! xx

Blow Dry Bar - Emporium

Hey all,

Just before Christmas I was invited to check out the newly opened Blow Dry Bar at Emporium in Fortitude Valley. I jumped at the opportunity! I had never been to a salon that specialised in 'blow dries' before and always felt as though I was wasting the time of hairdressers in other salons by requesting one.

My partner and I were going out for dinner that night and I was hoping to find a salon that could work magic on my hair for special occasions.

I found just that.

My 'before' hair. Unstyled and looking a little flat/dead.
The BDB is in a great location - Emporium is a place that I enjoy visiting. It's surrounded by delicious food options and has parking available.

The salon itself is gorgeous! I loved the detailing in the decor and felt instantly glamorous when I stepped in the door! The staff are also lovely (which helps!) and a glass of champagne was much appreciated as well!

The black tiles were absolutely stunning! I could't help but think how great they would look as a bathroom feature wall.

Whoops, my Mecca Maxima shopping bag. Caught in action...
Vintage inspired, brushed out curls was deemed the destiny for my hair.

To create this look? Firstly, a blow dry.

And a glass of champagne...
Then out came the GHD. One day I will learn how to create amazing curls, one day...

Amazing curls like this!

And I was transformed into a modern day goldilocks! This is how I have always dreamt my hair would look when I woke up in the mornings - amazing!

You can grab a blow dry at the BDB for $40 for every length and style.

Up-do's go for $45-$75 and a

Style Cut & Blowdry is $80.

For a full list of services and prices, check out the menu online

The gorgeous staff! They are fabulously chatty as well (just the way I like it!).

My curls were put up for me, so I could continue shopping with ease! It makes quite a pretty updo if you ask me!

The BDB is definitely a salon I would head to before any special event, or just to treat myself. Why fuss over your own hair for hours? At $40 you can end up feeling pampered and leave feeling refreshed. A much better scenario if you ask me!

Check out www.blowdrybar.com.au for more information.

Hope you all have a great night! xx

Nivea Visage Aqua Sensation Moisturiser

Hey all,

I saw this at my local Priceline and it instantly reminded me of one of my favourite moisturisers - Biotherm Aquasource Skin Perfection. So, I thought that I would pick it up and see how it fared. I usually don't purchase many drugstore skin products (as I have never found many that work for me), but I am always  open to trying new products!

What Nivea Says
"Stimulates the creation of new hydration channels in human skin cells, providing a long-lasting intensive moisturising effect."

How it Works
- Presence of new ingredient Hydra IQ supports the creation of new aquaporis.
- Improves moisture flow from cell to cell allowing for deeper hydration.

What I Love
- Leaves my complexion looking bright and radiant.
- Moisturised, without making my skin oily.
- Doesn't leave a residue.
- Contains UVA/UVB filters to prevent sun damage.
- Contains Titanium Dioxide as the active sunscreen ingredient, which is a physical blocker - I find these irritate my skin a lot less.

What I Don't
- A strong fragrance - it doesn't bother me, but keep this in mind.

Where to Buy: Priceline, Coles, Woolworths and many pharmacies.

Price: $14.79

I like it. I'm not as attached to it as I am to Biotherm Aquasource Skin Perfection, but I definitely like it. They are very similar and I would recommend this moisturiser to anyone looking for a cheaper alternative.

On a completely different note, how was everyone's Christmas/New Years/Holidays? Hope that you are all happy and well!
