Hey all,

I am on a bit of a blush discovery mission at the moment and have found a plethora of new shades that I love; some expensive, some more affordable. This blush is definitely an affordable product that I cannot believe how much I adore.

I only discovered Sleek blushes recently, and so far, I love every single one that I own. They are of amazing quality for the price; and you can be sure to find a shade to suit any skin tone!

This review is for Pomegranate - one of my favourite shades to date!

What I Love
- Great range of shades.
- Highly pigmented.
- Easy to apply and work with, blends well.
- Long lasting and fades evenly.
- Sleek, compact packaging.
- Affordable.

What I Don't
- Harder to find in Australia.
- The packaging is hard to get open, and I have lost many a nail! Maybe this is just me though!

Pomegranate is one of my favourite shades out of my little collection, and is a gorgeous, bright pink that leaves a lovely flush on the skin when applied with a light hand. It looks scary in the pan, but trust me, it will purr like a kitten!

Have you tried Sleek blushes? Which one is your favourite?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

Style Envy: Ellen Degeneres

Hey all,

This woman is amazing. She's funny (read: hilarious), caring and powerful all at the same time. She is a true public figure, and although her style isn't something that is for me personally, I still think that it is beyond amazing.

Ellen's love for menswear was apparent long before it became 'cool', and although she has had some fashion faux pas along the way - she has definitely developed a look that is iconic. She power dresses like nobody else; and frankly, wears mens clothing better than most men.

She is one of those people you look at in awe, saying "how on earth does she do it?!".

Tailored to perfection!

They are such a gorgeous couple!

The outfit on the left is one of my favourites of hers.

Proof that Ellen can pull it off better...

She is one of my idol's and I can only hope that I will meet her one day. I can imagine that knowing her personally would be something else.

What do you think of Ellen's style?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

I Choose Happiness

Hey all,

This is just a quick little bit of a ramble post about happiness, and in particular my views of my own happiness. I am a happy person, I always have been. I see the cup as half-full, never empty - and that is the way I like it.

It's not that things have always been easy for me, or that I never get sad or angry; I just believe in the power of positivity and think that a positive attitude can get you quite far. A positive attitude in life makes me see other's strengths, not weaknesses; and it allows me to see the best in every situation.

I'm writing this little rant because someone told me that I was "too happy" today.

I choose happiness because it works for me; it makes me feel better about myself and everything around me. A good attitude make my life, why not?

Thank you for reading, let me know your thoughts!

Hope you all have a great night! xx

On My Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Berry Smoothie

Hey all,

Yes, I have jumped on the bandwagon and purchased some of the well acclaimed Revlon Lip Butters. But before I start with the review, I have a bit of ranting to do.

The prices us Australian girls get charged for products is insane and personally I think it is completely unjustifiable. The lip butters are a perfect example; how we can get charged $21.95 for something that is $8 in the U.S is completely beyond me. Because of price gaps exactly like this, products that are affordable (and quite often loved for that reason) for our fellow beauty lovers overseas are not as easily accessible for Australian ladies.

What are your thoughts? Does anyone know the 'reason' behind the price gap?

Okay, rant done - on to the review.

Revlon Lip Butters are a famous new-ish product that are a wonderful combination of a lip balm/gloss and a lipstick; they provide moisture as well as colour. I have picked up four lip butters so far, but Berry Smoothie is definitely my favourite shade. For me, it's a perfect 'my lips, but better' shade.

What I Love
- Gorgeous colour- natural and universally flattering.
- Great pigmentation for the product type.
- Very moisturising and feels great on the lips.
- Relatively long lasting.
- Gorgeous packaging.

What I Don't
- The ridiculous price difference between the US and Australia.

Where to Buy: Priceline, Selected Pharmacies and wherever Revlon is sold.

Price: $21.95

On My Lips

They are lovely lip products and they do exactly what everyone and his dog/cat/bird/ant? (who hasn't been talking about them?!) claim. I am just not convinced they are worth the larger Australian price-tag.

What do you think?

If  I purchase more, I think I will grab them off eBay from the US - at a much lower price.

Hope you all have a great night! xx

I love that you can see the colour from the top of the packaging.

Models Prefer Highlighter in Glitz & Glamour

Hey all,

Highlighter and I haven't always been the best of friends; I have oily/combination skin and always thought that it would make me look like an oil slick, and a lot of it does. But out relationship is quickly changing, and highlighter is fast becoming my new best friend. Who doesn't want to look radiant and glowing when they have only had 3 hours sleep?

I picked up this Models Prefer powder highlighter from Priceline the other week. I have always been pleasantly surprised by Models Prefer, so I figured that I would give it a try.

It turns out that is a gorgeous blend of four shades that work perfectly with my skin tone; I'm in love with the formula as well.

What I Love
- Gorgeous blend of shades for my skin tone.
- Smooth, creamy and not at all chalky on my skin.
- Not too much shimmer.
- Doesn't make me look like a deep fryer.
- Long-lasting and wears off evenly (no blotchy shimmer here).
- Very reasonably priced!
- Sleek, simple packaging.

What I Don't Love
- This is just a personal mope moment - but I always get a little sad when the shades all start mix together

Where to Buy: Priceline

Price: $9.99

Without Flash

The frist swatch is all four shades mixed together, and the rest are clockwise around the quad.
With Flash

I've been using this product almost everyday now. It's a gorgeous shade and works very well with my combination shade. I am definitely cheating myself to a glowing, restored self with this one!

Definitely another Model's Prefer Success!

Do you have a favourite drugstore powder highlighter?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

On My Lips: MAC Hang Up

Hey all,

Another one of my lipstick great loves! I loved this lipstick as soon as I put it on for the first time.

Hang Up has been a constant favourite in my collection for a long while now, and it is definitely one of my go-to shades. This darker purple red compliments my deeper skin tone perfectly and it definitely adds a little bit of glamour to any look.

Shade: Deep purple-red with brownish tones.

Formula: Cremesheen

What I Love
- Gorgeous colour.
- Moisturising.
- Smooth and easy application.
- Relatively long-lasting, about 4 hours without eating or drinking.

Price: $36.00

Where to Buy: Myer and David Jones

I wear this shade lightly applied with a gloss during the day, and heavily applied for a highly pigmented night time look. Although it may seem to dark for some skin tones, I definitely recommend that you try it out for yourself - it may surprise you!

Do you have Hang Up? Any other shades like it that you love?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

Looking After Myself: Vitamins and Supplements

Hey all,

If you're anything like me, you lead a busy lifestyle and just can't guarantee that you will always get the nutrients you need from your diet. I do not believe that supplements should be taken in place of a healthy diet, and what we eat is very important; but I do think that they can be useful to ensure that you are getting enough of what you need.

Here is what I take to keep me running at my best.

*It is important to remember that this supplement program has been tailored for my needs in consultation with professionals. It may not be right for you, and it always important to consult your GP a nutritionist or a naturopath before starting any supplement or medication.

Swisse Liver Detox

On My Nails: Foie Gras from the China Glaze Capitol Colours - Hunger Games Collection

Hey all,

I know, I know; I should be patient and wait until I make my China Glaze Capitol Colours - Hunger Games Collection post...but I needed to share!

I love the Hunger Games trilogy, I love the movie and I love the polish collection; but most of all, I love this shade. Although the name represents a French delicacy I personally am not too fond of, that's the only thing about this colour that doesn't tickle my fancy.

Foie Gras represents Disctrict 10 - Livestock of the Hunger Games and is a gorgeous dark, muted, brown-mauve shade. It could be described as a deep taupe with a hint of purple.

As all China Glaze polishes, it is 3 free. It also applies well, is easy to work with and is relatively long-lasting.

Fabulously beautiful and office friendly! What more could a girl want?

Have you tried any shades from the Hunger Games collection? Did you buy them all (like me)?

What shades do you like wearing to the office?

Hope you all have a great night! xx

On My Bookshelf: Massive Haul

Hey all,

I don't know if I have mentioned it before, but I am a massive reader. I can read a book a day when I have nothing else to do. And sometimes I would much rather curl up in bed with a good bock than do anything else.

Who is with me?

I have gone a bit crazy with book purchasing in the past few weeks, both in person and on my favourite book purchasing site The Book Depository. Although I try not to buy into trends too much, sometimes I just can't help what wonder if books are really as amazing as others claim.

Now for the haul! Disclaimer: I don't usually buy this many.

Warning: This post is long!!

1. Mark of the Rose - Kate Pearce
Hearing that Henry VIII's new queen is in danger, Rhys Williams engages the help of Verity Llewellyn, a lady-in-waiting eager to prove her abilities as a vampire hunter. Rhys suspects the weakening queen has fallen victim to a vampire. And the fact that she is pregnant makes the situation all the more dangerous...

2. The Lady of the Rivers - Philippa Gregory
Jacquetta, daughter of the Count of Luxembourg and kinswoman to half the royalty of Europe, was married to the great Englishman John, Duke of Bedford, uncle to Henry VI. Widowed at the age of nineteen she took the extraordinary risk of marrying a gentleman of her household for love.

3. Through the Children's Gate - Adam Gopnik
Adam Gopnik, the highly esteemed, prize winning New Yorker writer, moved his young family back to New York City in 2000. This is a chronicle, by turns tender and hilarious, about raising a family in the middle of Manhattan

4. Delirium - Lauren Oliver
They say that the cure for Love will make me happy and safe forever. And I've always believed them. Until now. Now everything has changed. Now, I'd rather be infected with love for the tiniest sliver of a second than live a hundred years smothered by a lie.

5. Pandemonium - Lauren Oliver
After falling in love, Lena and Alex flee their oppressive society where love is outlawed and everyone must receive "the cure"--an operation that makes them immune to the delirium of love--but Lena alone manages to find her way to a community of resistance fighters, and although she is bereft without the boy she loves, her struggles seem to be leading her toward a new love.

6. My Father's Keeper - Julie Gregory
A powerful and compelling memoir of growing up with a schizophrenic father, who hid his mental illness behind a charismatic larger-than-life, gluttonous personality and found logical explanations for the most bizarre ways of thinking.

7. Uprising - Scott G. Mariani
A new war is dawning! For millennia, the vampires walked the earth undetected, feasting on humans in keeping with ancient tradition. In the Information Age, vampires realised they must be more careful to avoid detection. In the late 20th century they created the global Vampire Federation to police vampire activity, with special agents like Alex Bishop authorised to hunt down her own kind who break the laws. The old traditions are history. But not all vampires bow down to Federation rule.

9. The Borgias - Christopher Hibbert
The name Borgia is synonymous with the corruption, nepotism, and greed that were rife in Renaissance Italy. The powerful, voracious Rodrigo Borgia, better known to history as Pope Alexander VI, was the central figure of the dynasty. This title presents a portrait the Borgia family.

10. By Nightfall - Michael Cunningham
The whole course of one's life really can change in an instant.

11. Prophecy - S.F Parris
A Tudor thriller featuring Giordano Bruno, renegade monk, philosopher and heretic, for fans of C. J. Sansom and The Name of the Rose

12. The Pact - Jodi Picoult
Until the phone calls came at three o'clock on a November morning, the Golds and their neighbors, the Hartes, had been inseparable. It was no surprise to anyone when their teenage children, Chris and Emily, began showing signs that their relationship was moving beyond that of lifelong friends. But now seventeen-year-old Emily is dead—shot with a gun her beloved and devoted Chris pilfered from his father's cabinet as part of an apparent suicide pact—leaving two devastated families stranded in the dark and dense predawn, desperate for answers about an unthinkable act and the children they never really knew. From "New York Times" bestselling author Jodi Picoult—one of the most powerful writers in contemporary fiction—comes a riveting, timely, heartbreaking, and terrifying novel of families in anguish and friendships ripped apart by inconceivable violence.

I think we all know these two - sexy vampire novels!!

13. Dark Lover - J.R Ward

14. Lover Eternal - J.R Ward

House of Night Series - P.C and Kirstin Cast

I don't really enjoy this series that much, maybe I would if I was younger - I am not sure. But once I start something, I must finish it!

15. Untamed
16. Hunted
17. Tempted
18. Burned
19. Awakened
20. Destined

21. Kiss of the Rose - Kate Pearce
A debut novel and the first title in the Tudor Vampire Chronicles, a sexy new paranormal series about vampires and vampire hunters in the court of King Henry VIII. Original.

22. Bood of the Rose - Kate Pearce
Reunited a year after defeating a rogue vampire who was threatening Henry VIII, vampire slayer Rosalind Llewellyn and Christopher Ellis now face a new threat that could destroy their last chance at happiness.

23. Wither - Lauren DeStefano
At age 16, Rhine Ellery has four years to live. Thanks to a botched effort to create a perfect race, all females live to age 20 and males live to age 21. On the cusp of her 17th birthday, Rhine attempts to flee, but what she finds is a society spiraling out of control.

24. If Looks Could Kill - Beverly Barton
She had a face to die for! You'll be up all night with this addictive thriller from the New York Times bestselling author.

25. The Memory Collector - Meg Gardiner
A pulse-pounding, race-against-time thriller featuring forensic psychiatrist Jo Beckett.

26. The Bride's Farewell - Meg Rosoff
On the morning of her wedding, Pell Ridley creeps out of bed in the dark, kisses her sisters goodbye and flees - determined to escape a future that offers nothing but hard work and sorrow. She takes the only thing that truly belongs to her.

27. Fever - Lauren DeStefano
In a future where genetic engineering has cured humanity of all diseases and defects but has also produced a virus that kills all females by age twenty and all males by the age twenty-five, teenaged Rhine escapes her forced marriage and journeys back to New York to find her twin brother.

Oh my, that post was hard work!! Sorry for all the words!

Wet n Wild Colour Icon Eyeshadow Single in Nutty

Hey all,

Most of us would have heard of this eyeshadow at one point or another; it is a favourite amongst YouTuber's and bloggers alike. Wet n Wild products are famous for their exceptional quality and affordable price and are definite drugstore gems.

This eyeshadow and I got off to a bit of a rocky start; I saw it as just another neutral and it sat in the drawer untouched for a long while. But eventually I decided to give it a try and it gave me a bit of a pleasant shock. Nutty has unbelievable amounts of depth and dimension. It also catches the light wonderfully!

It is definitely one of those shadow's that can be used all on its own.

What I Love
- Extremely pigmented.
- The shade has wonderful depth.
- Creamy and goes on very smoothly.
- Long lasting with minimal fall out.
- Looks amazing as a sole shadow.
- Cheap!

What I Don't
- Hard to find in Australia, I purchased mine from Crush Cosmetics.
- I find the packaging very hard to open, and it has taken a nail or two with it!

Where to Buy: Crush Cosmetics

Price: $4.95

This really is a wonderful neutral shade that has a little bit more depth and dimension to it than most! It looks absolutely gorgeous on the lid. It is definitely a drugstore neutral that is in a league of its own.

What is your favourite drugstore neutral?

Baby Otters, Oh My!

Hey all,

Okay, this is a very different sort of post, but I have been so obsessed over the last few weeks that I just had to share! What am I obsessed with you say? Baby otters! That's what.

This obsession started when I watched an episode of 'The Zoo' that featured a few newly born otter pups, and it was love at first sight! They are so unbelievably adorable; surely there has to be some sort of law against being that cute! So now I have been looking at pictures, watching videos and reading all about tiny little otters.

I can't help it, look!

Oh my, oh my!!

So due to the discovery of this extreme cuteness, I have developed a new plan. Build a giant otter pond and start an internationally renowned otter breeding program. It can happen, right?

What do you think of these adorable lil creatures?

Hope you al have a great night! xx

Avon Glimmersticks Diamonds Eyeliner - Review + Swatches

Hey all,

I bought these little beauties on recommendation from one of my favourite YouTube makeup guru's - gossmakeupartist. He's great, head over and check him out if you haven't already! I am a sucker for eyeliner's and ran off to purchase them after I saw them in one of his favourites post.

They are long-lasting coloured eyeliners that are infused with shimmer particles. They come in a range of shades and I picked up: Emerald Glow, Sugar Plum, Twilight Sparkle, Sparkling Silver and Golden Diamond. I have been using them for about a month now, and absolutely adore them so far. They have the perfect balance between colour and shimmer, and I have found that they add a special something to most eye looks!

What I Love
- Highly pigmented - deep, rich colour, especially in the darker shades.
- Great range of shades.
- Bright, sparkling shimmer.
- Not too shimmery - can be used both day and night.
- Long lasting and don't smudge easily.
- Go on smoothly and easily.
- Automatic and self sharpening.
- Cheap!

What I Don't
- The darker colours seem to be a lot more pigmented than the lighter ones.
- They are hard to come by in Australia, you would have to hunt down a representative. You can get around this though by purchasing them on eBay from overseas.

Where to Buy: Avon Representatives, eBay.
I purchased mine from tupperwarenavon2731 from the USA.

Price: I bought them for $2.90 each, and combined postage came to $5.20.

Emerald Glow, Twilight Sparkle, Sugar Plum, Sparkling Silver and Golden Diamond.

I definitely recommend these if you want a shimmer infused liner that isn't too overpowering. I have found that they brighten up and add depth to most looks. At $2.90 each, why not give them a try?

Hope you all have a great night! xx
